My Journey of Faith

My walk with Jesus started when I was very young. I have grown up in a Christian family all my life and I’m so very blessed to have that. I have also had an extended family that loves God and has also been a great example to me of what it means to live a Christian life. I’ve gone to church ever since I can remember. When I was a baby I was dedicated to the Lord by my parents. As a toddler I loved reading my storybook Bible, and when I was five, I prayed with my parents and asked Jesus to come into my heart and to be my Savior. Even though I know I’m saved, I still pray that prayer at church whenever someone asks if anyone wants to pray for salvation. I just like to remind myself that He is my savior and always will be. Since 6th grade, youth group and small groups at church have had a huge impact on my life. I volunteer each summer for Vacation Bible School at my church and I like helping younger kids learn more about God.
Going to Camp Deer Run each summer has been a big part of my growth in my relationship with God. Two summers ago I was baptized in Lake Winnipesaukee by Zane Kang. I wanted to do this at camp because it is such a special place in my heart, and I wanted to be baptized in front of friends that I know will always encourage me in my faith and who would understand how important baptism was to me. This past year at camp I felt closer to God than other years. I think this is because my relationship with God is becoming more personal and I am learning so much about who God is. I also think being a leader at camp as an Impala stretched and grew me. Ever since camp, I have been closer with God and have been doing my own devotionals, listening to praise music daily, and reading my Bible more often. Recently, I even began writing devotions for my friends based on Bible verses that encourage me. This year at church I also began leading 1st grade girls each Sunday morning in their small group time. I feel like this has helped me grow in my relationship with God, because I am learning new verses and Bible stories right along with them. Now I am writing this blog and I am super excited for my future with this!
